State of the Art Facilities
Willow Creek Ranch has both indoor and outdoor arenas, round pen, cow trac flag,
miles and miles of trails, water crossings and cattle in the summer months. In the winter
we operate out of an 11 stall barn with heated wash racks. We also offer pasture and
paddock areas in the warmer months for our training clients, as well as, optional turn out
weather permitting.
Riding Lessons
Willow Creek Ranch has limited availability for both haul in lessons as well as lesson horses available. We have two older, beginner safe ranch horses we use for lessons. They are great for people wanting to learn the basics. Haul in lessons are for people with their own horse wanting to hone in on specific goals.
While Karin and Sarah both teach, Karin exclusively teaches lessons to people who have their horses in training, Sarah teaches haul in lessons and people wanting to come take lessons on ranch horses. Sarah is excellent with beginners and loves to teach. Sarah is our primary lesson instructor.
Haul-in Lesson: $50/lesson
Lesson w/ Ranch Horse $65/lesson

Testimonials
We are so pleased with Willow Creek Ranch. The training is impeccable and the experience was transparent, friendly and fun! Sarah and Karin made the whole experience wonderful. We could not be happier! Thank you!
- Anne & Woody H., McCloud, CA
I just want to let you guys know McArthur is doing great! He is such a good boy. I took him trail riding the past few days and some arena work. River crossings he practically had to swim across were no issue. Steps out by himself, trusting. He follows you around, loads, trailers, is polite. He’s wonderful, everything I was looking for in a horse. Thank you again.
- Molly S., Redding, CA
My heart is full. You let them come train with you, you have given them your everything, you continue to help them grow everyday. Know, that no matter if they stay or if they go to someone else, you were their lifeline of giving them a second chance. I appreciate you and everyone at the ranch more than you know. Thank you so much. You guys are the best and I am so glad to call you all my friends. . Meanwhile, Im watching you work with Daisy, Lilly and Whitney recently and am just blow away by the work you put in and the progress you have made with everyone. Don’t ever stop loving what you do, you make a difference
- Carolyn S., McCloud, CA
My heart is overflowing with gratitude after my experience buying a beautiful off the track thoroughbred who had been in training at Willow Creek Ranch for the past 6 months. They handled the sale in a professional, yet very comfortable manner, with the highest level of integrity.
Their facility is absolutely beautiful. Karin and Sarah run it very well with every attention to detail…putting the success and well-being of the horses at the top of the list. You can tell when you walk in the door that they put an immense amount of love, care, and dedication into their work.
Karin did and amazing job with the horse that I purchased. It was immediately obvious that she had put a huge amount of effort into making sure he had safe and respectful ground manners even though he is only 4. He was also relaxed and had not been overwhelmed or pushed too hard. It’s hard to find trainers who understand how much they can ask of young horses.
These ladies are top notch and if you’re looking for a good quality horse with a solid foundation, I would look no further. And if you aren’t buying a horse, at least go take a lesson from them in their beautiful arena and soak in the awesomeness of what they have going on!

Meet Our Team
Karin - Head Trainer
Karin grew up in the Woodside, California area. She began riding at the age of 8 and showed hunter/jumpers throughout high school. After that, she attended Feather River College where she found a love for colt starting and western performance. While studying for her AS in Equine Science, she worked for reined cow horse trainer Todd Crawford for two summers as an intern. After college, Karin went to work for reined cow horse trainer Monica Caetano for two years.
In 2019, she began working at Willow Creek Ranch. Karin is passionate about bringing young horses along and making them as "fancy broke" as possible to be able to excel in any western performance discipline. She finds this ranch to be an excellent and unique place to train young horses, and treats the vast acreage of trails as an extension of her riding arena. She shows her mare, Helen, in reined cow horse events in her spare time. She is very excited to be training horses here at the ranch.
Sarah - Program Manager
Sarah is from Northern Arizona and grew up riding. She became very interested in natural horsemanship at an early age. Sarah has always been fascinated with equine psychology and different disciplines. In high school she worked for colt starter, Ned Leigh before going to Arizona State to get her B.S. in Supply Chain Management.
In between college years she worked for a variety of horse trainers including Monty Buntin and Ryan Rose and took a year off in college to study with Linda Parelli.
Sarah loves horses and people and using her business degree to manage the horse training and sale program at Willow Creek Ranch. In her spare time, Sarah loves to ride her personal horse, expand her knowledge of western performance and to spend time with her husband, Mike.
